FOURSUM A Newspaper Theatre Production Of Uganda in papers 2013.
Four artists by the names of Edwin Mukalazi, Simon kivumbi, Mpaata Rogers Williams, and Felix Bwanika all theatre factory prominent theatre and film actors in the entertainment industry of Uganda will have a two hours newspaper theatre production. They will create the structure, with minimal text but enormous movement and music, utilizing significant art forms originated or developed around the Newspapers Headlines since January to December 2013.
The performance will take the approach of an easy-understanding, simple yet attractive and interactive nature. It will embrace use of physical, mime,
improvisation and live music.

ART AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVE BY MPAATA ROGERS WILLIAMS
A workshop with the young people at SUUBI CENTRE Masaka on acting.
Art and Community is a project that started in 2011 using
street theatre to take theatre (dance, drama, acrobatics, clown, music, etc.)
nearer to the people in form theatrical performance and presentation in outdoor public spaces
without a specific paying audience. These spaces can be anywhere, including shopping malls, car parks, recreational reserves and street
corners.
Art and Community create opportunity for the different
categories of people who cannot afford to have theatre performances in the
different theatres in the country. Art and community operate mainly in the city
suburbs, upcountry trading centres, market centres and communities of persons
with learning disabilities and disadvantaged persons.
PROJECT MISSION;·
To use Performing and Visual Arts to influence
the social, economic, and political change of communities.
PROJECT VISION;·
A community of performing and visual arts.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES;1.
Art and Community brings artists from the
different art forms of Art like performing artists and visual artists to use
their skills for the change of communities and lives of people.
2.
Brings
performances near to those communities that cannot afford to access theatre.
3.
Also carry out training and workshops in
different art forms with various organizations, schools, institutions and
communities.
4.
Partners with organizations, schools, companies
and institutions, in the use of street Theatre for social, economic, and
political change of communities.
5.
Sensitize communities on different issues of
subject matter.
PROJECT AREA OF OPERATION;The project core operation has been in the city suburbs of
Kampala, however since last year we have expanded our operations to reach out
to the country sides of Uganda.
PROJECT CURRENTLY UNDERTAKINGS;The project currently undertakes the following activities;

The monthly Street Theatre performances in the
city suburbs of Kampala every first Friday of the month.
·
The invisible theatre in communities used for
sensitization.
·
Organizing training and workshops on performing
and visual arts to different groups of young people in the country.

Mpaata rogers williams at Naguru Teenage Post Test Club (NATPOT)
Mpaata rogers williams carried out a workshop in Naguru Teenage Post Test Club on 21st September 2013 with the Drama group of teenagers who use music dance and drama to Sensitize the peers and their communities on the various reproductive issues.in this workshop these teenagers had an opportunity for Williams to share with them Improvisation in theatre, where different Improvisation games and Techniques were shared to the participants. Being that Mpaata Rogers Williams takes theatre as a mirror to society so these young people need the skills of theatre that they can use to change there communities and lives and that's why Mpaata Rogers Williams a theatre artists takes the Initiative to take performing and Visual arts to the community through his project of ART AND COMMUNITY.
ABOUT THE CLUB
The Naguru Teenage Post Test Club (NATPOT) was established on 2006 because of the need to bring together different young people who have tested for HIV to share experiences and get more knowledge on HIV/AIDS and other reproductive health issues in addition to acquiring skills on how to stay safe.
Initially the program had a teenage club whose membership was open to all young people between 10 – 24 years whose aim was to provide accurate ASRH information to young people using different strategies. And promoting services provided by the program. Since HIV counseling and testing is one of the services provided by NTIHC and majority of the members in the teenage club had tested, there was need to continue offering psychosocial support to those who are infected and equipping them with knowledge and skills to prevent further spread of HIV/AIDS.
PURPOSE
The establishment of this program was purposed towards responding to the expressed concerns of young people in ASRH in general and HIV/AIDS in particular to prevent further spread of HIV/AIDS and to provide psychosocial support to the young persons infected and affected by HIV in general.
